OIL PAN GASKET

WHAT IS AN OIL PAN GASKET?

The oil pan gasket it the gasket that seals the oil pan to the lower portion (block) of the engine

How will I know when it's time for replacement?

The oil pan is the storage area for the engine oil when it has run back down to the lower portion of the engine.

  • The most common sign that an oil pan may be leaking is the dark colored fluid that you notice dripping from underneath the engine area of your vehicle

  • You may think that the oil pan gasket is leaking and yet upon inspection it could very well turn out that the oil pan is cracked or has become porous

  • Your vehicle should be inspected for oil leaks at each of the regular service visits done every 3 months / 3,000 miles or 5,000 km.

DID YOU KNOW.......

Not replacing your oil pan gasket and or oil pan when required can result in serious engine damage due to lack or lubrication to vital moving engine parts.  This is one of the many instances where sub sequential damage may add up to being more than the cost of the original repair.  Have your vehicle inspected for fluid leaks every 3 months / 3,000 miles or 5,000 km when your vehicle is in for regular maintenance.
