The drag link connects one tie rod in your vehicle to the other tie rod for the purpose of steering the vehicle

How will I know when it's time for replacement?

  • A drag link will only exist in a four wheel drive vehicle.  You will most likely only be aware of its' need for replacement by having a technician note this when doing an inspection on your vehicle.

  • A drag link that breaks while driving will leave you with no steering ability on at least one side of the vehicle.

  • Your front end components are inspected at each service interval when you are in for routine servicing every 3 months / 3,000 miles or 5,000 km to ensure that they are not worn or falling apart.

DID YOU KNOW.......

Not replacing any of your front end / suspension components as advised by your service consultant or technician can be the cause of other damage or even an accident.  This is one of the many instances where sub sequential damage may add up to being more than the cost of the original repair.  Have your vehicle inspected when the oil is being changed every 3 months / 3,000 miles or 5,000 km to ensure your safety as well as avoid any further cost.
