BRAKE BOOSTER

WHAT IS A BRAKE BOOSTER?

A brake booster is the component that assists the master cylinder in pushing fluid through to the other brake components

How will I know when it's time for replacement?

  • A brake booster that requires attention will most likely result in a hard brake pedal.  It is also possible that you may notice a rough running condition in your engine or even the sound of a vacuum leak (air flowing) from within the engine compartment.

  • Your brake system should be inspected every 6,000 miles or 10,000 km in order to reduce the chances of a brake booster failing.  A booster that requires replacement is often found during a routine brake inspection.

DID YOU KNOW.......

Not having your brakes inspected every 3 months / 6,000 miles or 10,000 km when your tires are being rotated can result in an accident due to brake failure.  This inspection should be done for your own safety as well as to prevent any sub sequential damage or cost.
